Tomorrowland, one of the world's most iconic electronic dance music festivals, will hold its first full-scale edition in Asia this December in Thailand. More than 330,000 people have already pre-registered for tickets ahead of sales.

The three-day festival will take place in the beach town of Pattaya from December 11 to 13. Organizers expect over 50,000 attendees each day. This event is a significant step for the Belgian-born music brand as it expands from Europe and the Americas into Asia.

Tomorrowland chose Thailand because of its growing influence in music, innovation, and experience-driven tourism. While the Tomorrowland group has hosted events in several Asian cities before, this will be the first time it produces a full festival on the continent, matching the scale and ambition of its main event in Belgium.

Founded 20 years ago by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland is known for its elaborate stage designs, immersive storytelling themes, and world-class DJ line-ups that draw fans from all over the world.

Pre-registration for tickets begins on January 8, with a three-day “Full Madness Pass” priced at 12,500 baht (about $400 or £300). Single-day passes will cost 5,100 baht. Organizers will announce more details regarding the festival's theme and artist line-up in the coming months.

Thailand has signed a five-year hosting agreement with Tomorrowland and expects the festival to create 21 billion baht (around $673 million) in economic activity over that time, according to Thai media reports.

“Expanding Tomorrowland to a new continent is a milestone we approach with great respect and excitement. This is the beginning of a long-term story,” said Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers.

In recent years, Thailand has increasingly become a key hub for live music. The country has hosted global festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields, and Bangkok was part of Blackpink’s world tour. Meanwhile, Thailand’s homegrown festival Wonderfruit continues to grow in international popularity.

With hundreds of thousands already showing interest, Tomorrowland Thailand is set to be one of Asia’s largest music events of the year.
